Answering all Your Questions

What exactly is a Doula?

A doula is a professional who is trained to provide consistent physical, emotional, and informational support to their clients throughout the childbirth process. Their primary objective is to assist the mother in achieving the most satisfying and healthy experience possible.

How will hiring you affect my partner’s role during the birth?

Doulas are an addition to your birth team! We do not replace anyone. My goal is to work together with your partner or other birth companion to support you in a way that makes you feel confident and safe.

I'd love to have a doula but I'm unsure if I can afford one. Can you help?

I offer payment plans for those in need. Please reach out via email to discuss. I would love to support you!

Do you perform any physical examinations?

No! Doulas are not medical professionals. We are here to strictly provide educational, emotional and physical support during your pregnancy and labor/delivery. We do not perform cervical exams, take blood pressure or assess fetal heart tones. We can however assist with comfort measures such as massage, use of heat therapy, providing counter pressure, positioning during labor, etc.
